Beverley is married and has three adult sons; her youngest son has an intellectual disability. She emigrated with her family from London, England in 2008. She is specialised in working with children and adolescents with complex needs, their families and school staff members. Her PhD was ‘The value of counselling in schools with children with complex needs’, where she explored creative ways of working with young people in order for them to express and explore their inner worlds. Additionally, she has also trained at masters level in working with people with eating disorders. She has worked for the past 25 years in a range of settings. These settings include being the manager at a social service provider, consultant, course moderator, lecturer, researcher, supervisor, and clinical practitioner.
Outside of work, she is interested in the arts, theatre, photography, skiing, cycling, yoga, and meditation and walking in the beautiful mountains and beaches with her two black Labradors.

Beverly is a member of the New Zealand Association for Counsellors (NZAC), Creative Therapies Association of Aotearoa (CTAA), an approved supervisor for Play Therapy New Zealand (PTNZ), and British Association for Counsellors and psychotherapist (BACP).
Beverly is a qualified researcher and continues to work in this area; this also allows her to be conversant with the latest developments in her profession. She has four published papers in her chosen field.
Her training and practice is both holistic and eclectic incorporating person centered, psychodynamic, polyvagal informed therapy and attachment theory. She offers a creative environment for individuals, families and groups, who are experiencing a wide range of emotional, psychological and spiritual issues to explore, express and heal their inner worlds. She offers individual or group supervision including student counsellors, therapist and play therapist. Additionally, she regularly offers workshops for the continued development of professional practitioners and is a registered provider of safe and sound protocol (SSP).
