Margaret Alve is a warm, outgoing and empathetic person who relates readily to individuals, groups, couples and families of differing cultures and diversity. Core values she holds include: respect, integrity, listening, valuing, caring, curiosity, identifying, honoring... to name a few. Margaret is employed part time as a Counselor and Facilitator with the Wellington Division of the Cancer Society in Newtown. She is on the Faculty of the Skylight Trust as a Professional Presenter in group support and training. Through her support service, Because U Matter, Margaret offers Professional Supervision and Group Training by arrangement. Margaret is married to Terry and is a mother of four children and grandmother of seven.

Margaret works with counselors, health professionals and others in professional supervision. She has a Certificate in Supervision from WelTec, Wellington, a Counselling Diploma from Laidlaw College and a Postgraduate Certificate in Health Science from Auckland University.
Margaret worked for 12 years in family support with the Child Cancer Foundation (Central Division). She concluded this time as Divisional Family Support Manager. She is a full Member of the NZCCA - the New Zealand Christian Counselors' Association.
During 2013 Margaret completed studies towards and gained a Certificate in Supervision with WelTec in Wellington.
In 2008 Margaret completed a two year Postgraduate Certificate in Health Sciences from Auckland University majoring in loss, palliative care, bereavement, spirituality and ethics. From this she gained professional understanding and knowledge across a range of health theories and therapies.
Her counselling diploma was received from the Manawatu Learning Centre, Palmerston North in 2004 (now Laidlaw College).
